Each painting in this series comes from a line of the song All Creatures of our God and King, which beautifully celebrates the earth.

I searched high and low for someone who could tell me what this beautiful flowering tree was and when I learned it was a Kwanzan Cherry I made it mission to find one I could put in my yard.  Now each spring it brings me incredible joy when it explodes in a pink fury.  After the long dark winter of New England, the flowers that cover the branches embody the glory that this song describes.
